I finished up my embroidered tapestry today, a project I started back in October. I studied the ancient Turkish red dyeing method, experimenting with various mordants to see how the results compared. Sharing some pics of the completed tapestry and the process shots of the dyeing and embroidery. I’ve also shared my notes and the Turkish red dyeing recipe in the images. I named this tapestry ‘Moro em Lisboa’ (I live in Lisbon) after the song by Madredeus. I find myself quite fascinated by the terracottas and sun-glazed beauty of this glorious city. Happy Monday!
