“I had an amazing weekend traveling to Odemira, where I introduced a wonderful group to the folklore of Phulkari embroidery from Punjab and the classic techniques of natural dyeing.
I had such a lovely group of students from Switzerland visit this year for my popular ‘Gindi’ class in Lisbon. We created new surfaces using recycled, plant-dyed textiles, and some truly amazing pieces emerged throughout the sessions.

Last month, I hand-embroidered wool vests in 100% Portuguese wool, entirely sourced and produced in Portugal by Rosa Pomar.The two vests available in this collection are inspired by the folklore of Punjab and Portugal. Last week, I taught another Phulkari class at Retrosaria Rosa Pomar in Lisbon.The students really enjoyed learning about the embroidery traditions of Punjab and were excited to nearly complete their Bagh Phulkari motif. My next class is scheduled for April 12, 2025, again at Retrosaria in Lisbon.

Last month, I was offered a studio space in a state-funded incubator, Startup Barreiro. The spacious studio helps me focus on my R&D and provides a wonderful opportunity to connect and network with professionals worldwide.
