Quick sketches in my sketchbook using the madder watercolor paints that I had made earlier from leftover dyebaths. The sketches depict the theme of my daily life on the Lisbon coast: attending meetings, dropping off my son at kindergarten, and completing routine daily chores.
A short trip to chilly Munich, sorting through the extensive network of German trains, and completely inspired by a natural pigment factory in the small town, Aichstetten.
Some sketches from my sketchbook which I started in the Netherlands and finished in Lisbon. I made some madder root pastels, onion skin paints, and acorn ink to use them in these sketches.
